What We Do

WILD is a national charity with a Cornish heart. We work with young parents and their babies across Cornwall, and with others across the UK to make things better for all young parent families.
WILD in Cornwall
WILD welcomes young parents, their children, and young people who are expecting a baby. We welcome mums, dads and young parents under the age of 23, and their babies and children under the age of 5.
We want all young parent families to feel like they belong at WILD. This includes single parents, couples, parents from LGBTQ+ communities, young parents who experience disabilities, and young parents from Black and minoritised communities.
We welcome families who live together, and families who live apart, and we often get to know grandparents too. We love how so many different families make up the wonderful world of WILD!
Here in Cornwall, young families can meet new friends through our many ‘real-life’ weekly groups across the county, and through our online chat groups. There is also one-to-one help for dads, mums and parents and extra help for families who are finding things hard.

A National Movement
We have used our size and experience to move from being a local charity to taking a leading role in wider national change for babies and their young parents. Our flagship work in Cornwall puts into practice our bigger plans to create intergenerational change for babies of young parents across the UK.
WILD leads a national network of over 80 organisations; academics, local authorities and integrated care systems, think tanks, voluntary sector providers, and national mental health, parenting, maternity and early years alliances. Together, we want to tackle the stark inequalities experienced by babies and their young parents.
As well as supporting other organisations, we are leading a national plan for change for young parent families. Check out our national page HERE.
